The integration of technology and toys industries has been a constant, but now more than ever they seem to fusion in products that are difficult to define as the subject of one of those industries since the division line blurs away between them.
Mattel has launched “Barbie Photo Fashion”, a version of the famous doll that integrates a digital camera. In this case, Barbie’s camera takes a picture and it is displayed on Barbie’s black T-shirt as if stamped on it. With the integrated software, the user can add effects to the pictures, enhance them and transfer them to a computer where they can be further manipulated. The doll comes with a pink USB cable for connection. Every unit is sold for a price starting in $39.99.
